Hilton Points points are definitely not the most valuable currency, and most cards for earning Hilton points earn at a high rate relative to other cards.
Hilton has many credit card options, and quite a few ways to earn additional points. Relative to other hotel chains, Hilton has the highest point requirement for a single stay (Waldorf Astoria Maldives) at 150,000 points on certain nights (keep in mind Hilton points are worth less generally). That being said, I think it’s really important to consider whether or not it’s worth using points or cash.
I value Hilton points at 0.5 cents per point. However, keep in mind it is not impossible to get more value.
I highly recommend only using points at high end Hilton properties with high cash prices for the nights in question. Looking at this example above at the Conrad Bali, a high end hotel, it might seem logical to use points. In this situation, it would not be an advisable idea. At this price, this would be a point valuation of only 0.3 cents per point, well beneath the value I believe should be easy to obtain.
Do Hilton Points Expire?
Points expire after 15 months of inactivity. However, Hilton will help you restore points for a fee.
